- Any of the following sources of pollution must be at least 100 meters away: areas where fertilizers or chemicals are stored, fruit packing sheds, plant workshops, and animal enclosures.

- When choosing a location for your borehole, consider the proximity to a power source as it can reduce costs.
- Avoid placing the borehole within a firebreak area.
